Silver Streaks Girls Basketball @ East Peoria | Regional Semifinal
Galesburg 57, East Peoria 25
East Peoria, IL — The Galesburg Silver Streaks girls basketball team advanced in the postseason by knocking off the East Peoria Raiders, 57 - 25, Monday night at the East Peoria Regional.
Leading the way for the Silver Streaks was Khloe May with 11 points, Ella Herchenroder chipped in 10, Grace Herchenroder finished with 9, Zaniyah Carter had 8, and Ellie Johnson had 7 points. Overall, it was not the best shooting night for the Streaks with 23 of 58 from the field, just 5 of 23 from three-point range, and 6 of 16 from the free throw line. They pulled down 35 rebounds, had 15 assists, and committed 16 turnovers while forcing 30 turnovers by the Raiders.
Senior Khloe May made the most of her first career start and was named the Dave's Auto Body Crunch Time Player of the Game. In addition to scoring 11 points, Khloe finished with 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 steals. She just hounded the Raiders on defense with her ability to press and force turnovers, as well as using her speed to get back on transition and cause them problems.
Galesburg will play for a Regional Championship Thursday night at East Peoria High School.
