Wallkill, NY — Wallkill, NY — April 20, 2026 — The Red Hook High School boys varsity lacrosse team earned a hard-fought 13–12 double overtime victory over Wallkill on Monday in a dramatic, back-and-forth contest.
Red Hook jumped out to a strong start with 7 first-quarter goals, but Wallkill battled back to tie the game late and force overtime. After a scoreless first extra period, the Raiders capitalized in the second overtime to secure the win.
Red Hook’s offense was led by Lucas Flores (Jr.) and Everett Giorgio (Jr.), who each scored 4 goals, while Danny Cashen (Sr.) added a standout performance with 2 goals and 4 assists. John Macri (Sr.) contributed 1 goal and 2 assists, and Chris Macri (Sr.) chipped in 1 goal and 1 assist as part of a balanced attack.
Defensively, Chris Macri (7 ground balls) and Koster O’Connor (6 ground balls) led a strong effort, helping Red Hook control possession in key moments. In goal, Jack Melius (Sr.) recorded 9 saves, including several critical stops late in regulation and overtime, while Travis Hughes (Fr.) added 1 save.
Wallkill matched Red Hook throughout the game, rallying from an early deficit and forcing overtime with a late push in the fourth quarter.
The Raiders are back in action this Thursday as they "host" division rival New Paltz at Stissing Mountain HS at 6: pm. This is a historic event, as it is the first ever boys HS lacrosse game played in Pine Plains.
