Red Hook, NY — The Red Hook Boys Varsity Lacrosse team put together a complete team performance, combining efficient offense, dominance at the faceoff X, and a gritty defensive effort.
Red Hook finished with 12 goals and 4 assists (18 total points) on 27 shots. Junior Lucas Flores led all scorers with 4 goals, while senior John Macri paced the offense with 4 goals and 2 assists. Senior captain Danny Cashen added 3 goals and 1 assist, and junior Everett Giorgio chipped in a goal. Senior Harrison Brown contributed an assist.
At the faceoff X, junior Calvin Steele was outstanding, winning 20 of 25 draws (80%), giving Red Hook a consistent possession advantage. Steele also dominated the ground game with a team-high 14 ground balls, helping the Raiders total 45 ground balls on the day.
Defensively, Red Hook showed toughness and discipline, forcing turnovers and limiting opportunities. Senior Chris Macri recorded 4 ground balls and 3 caused turnovers, while senior John Macri added 5 ground balls. Contributions came across the roster, highlighting a strong team defensive effort.
In goal, senior Jack Melious anchored the defense with 14 saves over 48 minutes, helping secure the result.
The Raiders are back on the road on Saturday, heading to Middletown to take on the Middiebears.
