Raiders Fall to Monroe-Woodbury in Section 9 Non-League Matchup

The Red Hook Raiders dropped a non-league boys varsity lacrosse matchup to the Monroe-Woodbury Crusaders, 12-6, on Tuesday in Central Valley in a Section 9 contest between two competitive programs.
Red Hook (25-26) was led offensively by junior attackman Lucas Flores, who scored two goals and added an assist. Senior midfielder John Macri paced the Raiders with four goals, while senior midfielder Danny Cashen contributed a goal and an assist.
Monroe-Woodbury built an early lead after the first quarter and carried momentum into halftime before Red Hook battled back with three goals in the third quarter. The Crusaders ultimately pulled away late to secure the 12-6 victory.
Defensively, junior defender Brent Macri collected five ground balls for the Raiders, while freshman defender Koster O'Connor added seven ground balls. Senior goalie Jack Melious made 17 saves in net for Red Hook.
The Raiders are back in action on Thursday, May 14th as the host the Rondout Valley Ganders at Bard College's Ferrari Soccer & Lacrosse Complex at 4:30. Red Hook will be celebrating it's seniors prior to face-off
