Warwick, NY — Warwick Valley, NY - Red Hook closed out the regular season on Wednesday, May 20 with an 18-7 road loss to Warwick Valley in a Section 9 boys lacrosse matchup. Warwick used a dominant third quarter, outscoring the Raiders 9-1 in the frame, to pull away after a competitive first half. The Raiders were led offensively by junior attackman Lucas Flores and junior attackman Everett Giorgio, who each scored two goals. Senior captain John Macri added two goals and an assist, while senior captain Danny Cashen finished with a goal and two assists. Senior goalie captain Jack Melious turned in another strong performance in net, making 20 saves against a high-powered Warwick offense. Warwick controlled much of the possession game throughout the evening, winning 74.1% of faceoffs and holding advantages in ground balls and clears. Despite the loss, Red Hook qualified for the Section IX Class C postseason tournament and will enter sectional play as the No. 3 seed. The Raiders are scheduled to travel to Saugerties for a Class C semifinal matchup on Thursday, May 28.
