Pomona, CA — Azusa kicked off their season on the road on Wednesday and hit a couple of potholes. They took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Diamond Ranch Panthers. The Aztecs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024. Danny Quezada was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Rafael Molina, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases. Looking ahead, Azusa will welcome Covina at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
