Azusa, CA — Azusa came into Friday's game having lost eight straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past the Garey Vikings 8-2 on Friday. The Aztecs not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 3rd (when they won 11-0). Aidan Sanchez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. At the plate, Azusa got a massive performance out of Matt Huizar, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with six stolen bases and three runs. That's the most stolen bases Huizar has posted since back in February. Jeran Ofalla also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season. Azusa's record is now 5-10. We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Azusa is set to square off against their familiar foe Duarte at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
