Recap
Azusa, CA — Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Duarte Falcons a 17-0 shutout on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
The team relied heavily on Zach Huizar, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (3). Adrian Pena also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.
Azusa was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Azusa's win bumped their record up to 6-11. Azusa will welcome Sierra Vista at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
