Sacramento, CA — Up until tonights game vs. Christian Brothers, the Lady Dragons had coasted through the CAL pretty much without any challenge. That all changed on Friday night. The Lady Dragons, playing without leading scorer Andriana Avent, jumped out on CBS quickly in the first quarter and looked to be on their way jumping out to an early 10-2 lead. But CBS fought back and cut the lead to 18-14 by the half. The 3rd quarter was a different story as the Lady Falcons outscored the Lady Dragons 7-1 in the first 2 minutes of the quarter to take a 21-19 lead, on their way to a 31-26 lead by the end of the 3rd quarter. Both teams traded misses in the first couple of minutes of the 4th before Sac hit a layup only to be answered quickly by CBS to keep their lead at 5, 33-28. From that point until the last 30 seconds of the game, the Lady Dragons stepped up their signature full court pressure and CBS cracked, as Sac went on a 12-0 run to swing the game their way. CBS hit a desperation 3 and a couple of field goals to pull the game to 41-38, but there wasn't enough time and Sac pulled out the victory. With the victory, the Dragons improved to a perfect 9-0 in CAL play and 18-7 overall.
