Yale Varsity Bulldogs defeated Almont Varsity Raiders 10-4 on Tuesday thanks in part to eight runs in the second inning.
Almont Varsity Raiders opened the scoring in the first after Asaro grounded out, scoring one run.
Yale Varsity Bulldogs flipped the game on its head in the top of the second, scoring eight runs on seven hits to take the lead, 8-1. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by McCormick (2027) that drove in two.
Yale Varsity Bulldogs added two runs in the third. Almont Varsity Raiders committed an error, making the score 9-1.
Aguinaga (2026) earned the win for Yale Varsity Bulldogs. The starter allowed seven hits and four runs (three earned) over seven innings, striking out five and walking two. Campbell took the loss for Almont Varsity Raiders. The reliever went one-third of an inning, giving up eight runs on seven hits, striking out none and walking one.
Asaro drove the middle of the lineup, leading Almont Varsity Raiders with two runs batted in. The infielder went 3-for-4 on the day.
