Even though Almont Varsity Raiders collected 10 hits to Romeo's eight, they still fell 9-5 on Friday. Debczak, Campbell, and Derk each collected two hits for Almont Varsity Raiders.
Romeo were the first to get on the board in the first when Jesperson hit a solo home run to left field.
Romeo scored five runs on three hits in the bottom of the third inning. Myers laid down a sacrifice bunt, scoring one run, Jesperson singled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, Condon doubled, scoring one run, and Yaklin singled, scoring one run.
Yaklin hit a solo home run to center field in the bottom of the fifth for the Romeo.
Maximiuk earned the win for Romeo. The starting pitcher gave up seven hits and four runs (one earned) over five innings, striking out one and walking none. Campbell took the loss for Almont Varsity Raiders. The starting pitcher went six innings, surrendering nine runs (five earned) on eight hits, striking out one and walking six.
Almont Varsity Raiders collected 10 hits in the game. Debczak, Asaro, Campbell, Campbell, and Tencza each drove in one run for Almont Varsity Raiders. Derk stole two bases. Almont Varsity Raiders turned one double play in the game.
Yaklin led Romeo with three runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. The shortstop went 2-for-3 on the day. Yaklin and Jesperson each collected two hits for Romeo. Myers paced Romeo with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, collecting six walks for the game.
