Elgin, IL — Brayden Duran collected three hits in four at bats, as the Zee-Bees defeated Streamwood 7-2 on Monday at Judson University. Duran tripled in the sixth inning, doubled in the fourth inning, and singled in the second inning.
The Zee-Bees jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Michael Gonzalez singled, scoring two runs, and Monchie Gunter V hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.
Andrew Mitchell earned the win for the Zee-Bees. The pitcher allowed five hits and two runs over five and two-thirds innings, striking out eight and walking four. Sam Villarreal collected the save.
The Zee-Bees accumulated nine hits in the game. Gonzalez drove the middle of the lineup, leading Zion-Benton Varsity Zee-Bees with two runs batted in. The infielder went 2-for-4 on the day.
Zion-Benton welcomes Highland Park on Tuesday for their next game.
