Zion, IL — The Zee-Bees fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 1-0 loss to Rolling Meadows Varsity Mustangs on Saturday at Zion-Benton Township High School District 126. Rolling Meadows Varsity Mustangs scored one run on a sacrifice fly in the second inning to start things off.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Sammy Villarreal sat down five.
Villarreal took the loss for the Zee-Bees. The starting pitcher went seven innings, giving up one run (zero earned) on two hits, striking out five and walking three.
Leadoff hitter Andrew Mitchell led Zion-Benton with two hits in three at bats. Brayden Duran had the other hit for the Bees.
Zion-Benton Varsity Zee-Bees play at home on Monday against Lake Forest in their next game.
