Lake Forest, IL — The Zee-Bees could not hold onto the lead against Lake Forest on Tuesday at Lake Forest High School West Campus and fell 15-5 despite leading by four at one point. They Zee-Bees jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Brayden Duran doubled, scoring one run, Michael Gonzalez singled, scoring two runs, and Ross Ames hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run. The Zee-Bees added one run in the second after Gonzalez hit a sacrifice fly. Lake Forest tied the game at five in the bottom of the second, never to relinquish the lead. Gonzalez took the loss for Zion-Benton. The pitcher went two and one-third innings, allowing 11 runs (six earned) on nine hits, striking out one and walking four. The Zee-Bees tallied nine hits in the game. Gonzalez provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led the Zee-Bees with three runs batted in. The pitcher went 1-for-2 on the day. Sam Villarreal led the Zee-Bees with three hits in three at bats. Andrew Mitchell collected two hits for Zion-Benton in three at bats. The Zee-Bees turned one double play in the game.
