Kenosha, WI — The Zee-Bees snatched the lead late in their 3-2 victory over Wilmot Panthers on Friday. The game was tied at two in the bottom of the sixth when Jake Mitchell singled, scoring one run. Zion-Benton pitchers struck out six batters. Wilmot opened the scoring in the first after with a lead off solo home run to right field. JJ Villalobos singled to center field, which helped Zion-Benton tie the game at one in the bottom of the first. A single gave Wilmot the lead, 2-1, in the top of the third. The Zee-Bees jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the sixth inning after Ross Ames grounded out, and Mitchell singled to right field, each scoring one run. Sam Villarreal earned the win for Zion-Benton. The starting pitcher surrendered five hits and two runs over six innings, striking out four and walking none. Monchie Gunter V collected the save. Ames, Mitchell, and Villalobos each drove in one run for Zion-Benton Varsity Zee-Bees. Michael Gonzalez led Zion-Benton Varsity Zee-Bees with two hits in three at bats.
