Waukegan, IL — The Zee-Bees dispatched the Waukegan Bulldogs on Monday at Weiss Field Stadium, 12-0. Zion-Benton opened the scoring in the top of the second thanks to two singles. The Zee-Bees first got on the board when Trey Harmon singled, scoring two runs. The Zee-Bees extended their early lead with three runs in the top of the third thanks to RBI doubles by Ross Ames and Monchie Gunter V. Zion-Benton scored six runs on six hits in the top of the fifth inning. Brayden Duran tripled, scoring two runs, Michael Gonzalez singled, scoring one run, JJ Villalobos doubled, scoring two runs, and Ames singled, scoring one run. Gonzalez earned the win for Zion-Benton The pitcher gave up one hit and zero runs over five innings, striking out six and walking two. The Zee-Bees accumulated 11 hits in the game. Ames, Harmon, Duran, and Gunter V each collected two hits for the Zee-Bees. Ames went 2-for-4 at the plate and led the team with three runs batted in. The Zee-Bees had a strong eye at the plate, collecting nine walks for the game. Sam Villarreal and Gonzalez led the team with three bases on balls each.
