Kenosha, WI — Zion-Benton scored nine runs in the third inning, which helped them defeat Waukegan 15-0 on Tuesday at Kenosha Kingfish | Summer Collegiate Baseball. Michael Gonzalez drew a walk, scoring one run, Andrew Mitchell singled, scoring one run, Ross Ames doubled, scoring three runs, Brayden Graham doubled, scoring one run, and Aaden Grider hit an inside the park home run, scoring two runs. Zion-Benton got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Mitchell grounded out, and the Zee-Bees scored on a wild pitch, each scoring one run. The Zee-Bees added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Monchie Gunter V grounded out, Mitchell walked, and Sam Villarreal was struck by a pitch, each scoring one run. Mitchell earned the win for Zion-Benton. The right-handed pitcher allowed two hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out five and walking three. Graham and Brayden Duran each collected two hits for Zion-Benton. Ames and Mitchell each drove in three runs for the Zee-Bees. Duran stole two bases. Zion-Benton had a strong eye at the plate, piling up 10 walks for the game. The Zee-Bees stole five bases in the game. The Zee-Bees turned one double play in the game.
