South Pasadena, CA — The South Pasadena Varsity Tigers put together a strong and resilient performance on Wednesday, battling hard in a close 7–6 extra-inning game against the La Canada Varsity Spartans. Despite the final score, the Tigers showed determination and grit, fighting back multiple times and keeping the pressure on until the very end. The game was tied at six heading into the eighth inning, where a late break allowed La Canada to take the lead. Even so, the Tigers’ ability to stay composed and compete throughout the game was a clear highlight. Offensively, South Pasadena delivered an impressive showing at the plate, out-hitting La Canada nine to six. Cody Robinson led the way with an outstanding three-hit performance, setting the tone for the lineup. The Tigers demonstrated resilience in the later innings. After falling behind 6–4 in the seventh, they responded immediately. Anthony Ortiz delivered a clutch double to drive in a run, and Nathan Raju followed with a key single to tie the game, showcasing the team’s never-quit mentality. On the mound, Hanson Chan provided a solid start, striking out four over four innings and keeping the Tigers in a strong position early.
