Tanner Varsity Rattlers took Monday's game in dramatic fashion, with a 7-6 walk-off victory over Cherokee. The game was tied at six in the bottom of the sixth when Michael Dempsey singled, scoring one run.
The bottom of the lineup was strong for Tanner Varsity Rattlers. Trae Malone, Jaden Williams, and Saban Long combined for six of the team's eight hits in their victory. They scored five runs and drove in six.
Tanner Varsity Rattlers got on the board in the bottom of the second inning after Malone doubled down the right field line, and Williams singled down the left field line, each scoring one run.
Tanner Varsity Rattlers committed an error, which helped Cherokee tie the game at two in the top of the third.
Cherokee jumped back into the lead in the top of the fourth inning after Nathan Gunnels walked, Tanner Varsity Rattlers committed an error, and Easton Hodges grounded out, each scoring one run.

Hodges started the game for Cherokee. The pitcher allowed five hits and three runs over five innings, striking out seven and walking four.
Williams led Tanner Varsity Rattlers with three runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. The catcher went 3-for-3 on the day. Malone collected two hits for Tanner Varsity Rattlers in two at bats. Williams and Lagrone each stole multiple bases for Tanner Varsity Rattlers. Tanner Varsity Rattlers ran wild on the base paths, piling up nine stolen bases for the game.
Marshall Wallace provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Cherokee with three runs batted in. Cade Tice led Cherokee with two hits in four at bats from the leadoff position. Cherokee had a strong eye at the plate, amassing 10 walks for the game. Cayson Cosgrove and Gunnels led the team with three free passes each. Cherokee didn't commit a single error in the field. Hodges had the most chances in the field with one.
