Dempsey hit a grand slam to right field in the third scoring four, doubled in the first scoring one, and walked in the third scoring one. Tanner Varsity Rattlers scored 12 runs in the third inning on the way to victory. Dempsey drew a walk, scoring one run, Ashley Lagrone drew a walk, scoring one run, Takorey Green singled, scoring two runs, Jaden Williams drew a walk, scoring one run, Javen Carter was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, T King was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Ricky Speights drew a walk, scoring one run, and Dempsey hit a grand slam to right field. Cherokee got on the board in the first inning after Cayson Cosgrove was struck by a pitch, driving in a run. Tanner Varsity Rattlers jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Dempsey doubled down the right field line, Lagrone walked, Green tripled down the right field line, and Tanner Varsity Rattlers scored on a passed ball, each scoring one run. Tanner Varsity Rattlers added one run in the second after Green doubled down the right field line. Saban Long earned the win for Tanner Varsity Rattlers. The righty surrendered one hit and one run (zero earned) over four innings, striking out eight and walking none. Haystin Thompson took the loss for Cherokee. The pitcher went two and one-third innings, giving up 14 runs on seven hits, striking out three and walking six. Tanner Varsity Rattlers collected nine hits in the game. Green went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Tanner Varsity Rattlers in hits. Speights collected two hits for Tanner Varsity Rattlers in two at bats.
