Carlsbad Varsity Lancers Defeats Cajon Varsity Cowboys On Back Of Clutch Display From Chloe Hernandez

Chloe Hernandez drove in five runs on three hits to lead Carlsbad Varsity Lancers past Cajon Varsity Cowboys 11-7 on Saturday at 15500 Espola Rd, Poway, CA 92064, USA. Hernandez hit a home run to center field in the fourth scoring three, singled in the first scoring one, and singled in the fifth scoring one.
Carlsbad Varsity Lancers came back to win despite trailing 6-2 in the third.
Cajon Varsity Cowboys were the first to get on the board in the first when Joelize Holley singled, scoring one run.
Carlsbad Varsity Lancers took the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Kendall Rivera doubled to center field, and Hernandez singled to center field, each scoring one run.
Cajon Varsity Cowboys captured the lead, 5-2, in the top of the second when Rylee Torres doubled, scoring two runs, Andrea Romero scored after tagging up, and Holley singled, scoring one run.
A fly out by Torres extended the Cajon Varsity Cowboys lead to 6-2 in the top of the third inning.
Carlsbad Varsity Lancers flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the fourth, scoring six runs on five hits to take the lead, 8-6. The biggest blow in the inning was a home run to center field by Hernandez that drove in three.
Madison Gallardo hit a solo home run to left field in the top of the sixth for the Cajon Varsity Cowboys.
Sofia Tillis earned the win for Carlsbad Varsity Lancers. The pitcher allowed two hits and one run over two innings, striking out five and walking none.
