Recap
South Pasadena, CA — South Pasadena had lost three straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped down to 7-10 to make it four. They came up short against the La Canada Spartans, falling 13-1. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, with their most recent loss being a 10-0 defeat on April 7th.
South Pasadena saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cassidy Lee, who went 1-for-3 with one run.
As for La Canada, their record now sits at 14-9. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by seven runs or more this season.
On La Canada's side, Caitlin Yee spent all five innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits. Yee has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Chloe Dugan and Laila Kazazian did most of the damage at the plate: Dugan fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4, while Kazazian went 2-for-3 with one home run and five RBI. What's more, Dugan posted two runs, the most she's had since back in March. Victoria Kelly was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. South Pasadena is set to face off against their familiar foe San Marino at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, La Canada will challenge rival Temple City at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
