Monrovia, CA — South Pasadena extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 7-12. They came up short against the Monrovia Wildcats, falling 16-6. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, with their most recent defeat being a 8-0 loss back in April. South Pasadena saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Racquel Dominguez, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. Talula Bearden was another, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI. As for Monrovia, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9-1 record this season. Considering they have won 13 matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new. On Monrovia's side, Carly Polanco made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Polanco has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with three runs and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. In other batting news, Madison Cardona was incredible, going 3-for-4 with six RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Mischa Lue-Long, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. South Pasadena is set to face off against their familiar foe Temple City at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Monrovia will take on rival San Marino at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
