Temple City, CA — South Pasadena extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping them down to 7-13. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Temple City Rams. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Rams this season, with their most recent loss being a 11-1 defeat back in April. Karina Millar was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. On the hitting side, South Pasadena saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Dawson, who went 1-for-2 with one run. As for Temple City, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. On Temple City's side, Lexi Garcia spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up six Ks. At the plate, the team relied heavily on Zoe Grimaldi, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple. We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. South Pasadena is set to face off against their familiar foe Blair at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Temple City will take on rival San Marino at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
