Enterprise Varsity Hornets Earn Walk-Off Win Over Shasta Varsity Wolves

Redding, CA — Enterprise Varsity Hornets took Tuesday's game in dramatic fashion, with a 7-6 walk-off victory over Shasta Varsity Wolves at Enterprise High School. The game was tied at six in the bottom of the seventh when Mehmi singled, scoring one run.
Both teams had their chances in the game, but eventually Enterprise Varsity Hornets took the lead thanks to a single in the seventh inning.
A walk by Sweig put Shasta Varsity Wolves on the board in the top of the first.
Gonzalez was struck by a pitch, which helped Enterprise Varsity Hornets tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.
A single by Graham gave Enterprise Varsity Hornets the lead, 2-1, in the bottom of the second.
Shasta Varsity Wolves jumped back into the lead in the top of the third inning after Enterprise Varsity Hornets dropped a third strike, and Thrasher walked, each scoring one run.
Shasta Varsity Wolves committed an error, which helped Enterprise Varsity Hornets tie the game at three in the bottom of the third.
Enterprise Varsity Hornets took the lead in the bottom of the fourth. Graham hit a solo home run to left field, to give Enterprise Varsity Hornets the upper hand, 4-3.

Mehmi, Ross, Graham, and Romero each collected two hits for Enterprise Varsity Hornets. Mehmi and Graham each drove in two runs for Enterprise Varsity Hornets.
Drumheller, the number seven hitter for Shasta Varsity Wolves, led the way with two runs batted in. The center fielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Scarborough went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Shasta Varsity Wolves in hits. Shasta Varsity Wolves had a strong eye at the plate, collecting 12 walks for the game. Scarborough, Salkeld, Waterman, Lynch, and Sweig led the team with two walks each.
