Tucson, AZ — Salpointe came out swinging and never looked back. 🔥 The Salpointe Catholic Varsity Lancers dominated from the first pitch, shutting out Walden Grove 10-0 on Thursday at home in a complete team performance. It didn’t take long for the Lancers to set the tone. In the bottom of the first, they exploded for runs across the board—Colton Raetzman got it started with a shot down the right field line, Adrian Villela added pressure after being hit by a pitch, and the lineup kept rolling. Zachary Peura, Anthony Milo, and Gage Geile all drove in runs to cap off a relentless opening inning that put Salpointe firmly in control. The momentum never slowed. In the fifth, Cosimo Milo put an exclamation point on the night with a two-run blast to right field, extending the lead and electrifying the home crowd. On the mound, Christopher Gutierrez was locked in. The starter delivered five scoreless innings, allowing just three hits while striking out six and keeping Walden Grove off balance all game long. At the plate, the Lancers stayed hot—racking up 10 hits total. Peura led the charge, going 2-for-3 with three RBIs, while David Driskill and Johnny Abramian each added multiple hits to keep the offense rolling. Defensively, Salpointe was just as sharp. The Lancers played a clean game with zero errors, showing discipline and focus from start to finish, with Driskill leading the way in the field. Walden Grove managed a few hits, but couldn’t find an answer for Salpointe’s all-around performance. Next up, the Lancers look to carry this momentum into another home matchup Friday against Ironwood Ridge. 💪⚾
