Florence, AZ — By GameChanger Media Lilliana "Lilly" Davis struck out 10 batters as the hurler led Show Low Junior Varsity Cougars past Florence Junior Varsity 17-2 on Monday. Davis surrendered one hit and two runs over three innings while walking one. Show Low Junior Varsity Cougars got on the board in the top of the first inning after Huntlee Garvin singled down the right field line, and Shiloh Cisneros grounded out, each scoring one run. Show Low Junior Varsity Cougars scored six runs on two hits in the top of the second inning. Brooklyn Pearce drew a walk, scoring one run, Saylor Alexander singled, scoring one run, Garvin drew a walk, scoring one run, an error scored two runs, and an error scored one run. Show Low Junior Varsity Cougars scored six runs on one hit in the top of the third inning. An error scored one run, Garvin was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Davis drew a walk, scoring one run, Meylin Muñoz singled, scoring one run, and Reagan Cody was struck by a pitch, driving in a run. Paisley Pine started in the circle for Florence Junior Varsity. The starter gave up six hits and 15 runs (nine earned) over three and one-third innings, striking out none and walking 12. Garvin and Ruthie Wilhelm were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Show Low Junior Varsity Cougars. Cisneros provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Show Low Junior Varsity Cougars with two runs batted in. Show Low Junior Varsity Cougars had a strong eye at the plate, tallying 14 walks for the game. Pearce and Junie Peck led the team with three bases on balls each. Lexington Randall went 1-for-1 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Anette Sosa stole two bases.
