Rylee Wyatt A Difficult Out As Show Low Varsity Cougars Defeat Payson

Rylee Wyatt collected three hits in three at bats, as Show Low Varsity Cougars defeated Payson 15-3 on Thursday. Wyatt hit a solo home run to center field in the second inning, singled in the fifth inning, and singled in the sixth inning.
Payson got on the board in the first inning after Kinikki Smith grounded out, scoring one run.
Show Low Varsity Cougars jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Aspyn Clark doubled down the right field line, Riley Heuett doubled down the left field line, and Gracie Umphress singled down the left field line, each scoring one run.
Show Low Varsity Cougars added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Wyatt homered to center field, and Addi Clark hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.
Clark homered to center field, scoring two runs in the bottom of the fourth for the Show Low Varsity Cougars.
Show Low Varsity Cougars added two more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning on three hits. Umphress hit a solo home run to center field, and Wyatt singled, scoring one run.
Show Low Varsity Cougars scored six runs on four hits in the bottom of the sixth inning. Lyndie Wallentine singled, scoring one run, Umphress doubled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, and Clark homered to left field, scoring three runs.
Clark earned the win for Show Low Varsity Cougars. The hurler gave up four hits and three runs (two earned) over six innings, striking out four and walking one. Smith took the loss for Payson. The starter went five innings, allowing 11 runs on 12 hits, striking out one and walking six.
Show Low Varsity Cougars tallied 15 hits in the game. Wyatt and Umphress each collected three hits for Show Low Varsity Cougars. Clark went 2-for-3 at the plate and led the team with four runs batted in. Tatum Townsend collected two hits for Show Low Varsity Cougars in four at bats. Show Low Varsity Cougars had patience at the plate, amassing six walks for the game. Clark and Angelee Villa led the team with two free passes each. Heuett stole two bases. Show Low Varsity Cougars ran wild on the base paths, piling up five stolen bases for the game.
Vera Sopeland, Shylah Waterman, Logann Prock, and Tatum Weinland each collected one hit for Payson. Gracie Finkler, Prock, and Smith each drove in one run for Payson.
Show Low Varsity Cougars will travel to Alchesay for their next game on Tuesday.
