San Juan Capistrano, CA — By GameChanger Media Shane Beaudry collected three hits in four at bats, as JSerra Catholic Freshman Lions defeated St. John Bosco 7-2 on Saturday. Beaudry tripled in the second inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the sixth inning. St. John Bosco were the first to get on the board in the first when Reveles singled, scoring one run. In the bottom of the first inning, JSerra Catholic Freshman Lions went back into the lead after A Thorsen singled down the left field line, and D Bothwell grounded out, each scoring one run. JSerra Catholic Freshman Lions added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after St. John Bosco committed an error, Beaudry tripled to right field, and Thorsen grounded out, each scoring one run. Fick earned the win for JSerra Catholic Freshman Lions. The hurler surrendered one hit and two runs (one earned) over four and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking four. Cano started on the mound for St. John Bosco. The hurler surrendered six hits and six runs (three earned) over five innings, striking out one and walking two. L Rader and Brody Rae each came on in relief for JSerra Catholic Freshman Lions and shutdown St. John Bosco. JSerra Catholic Freshman Lions piled up nine hits in the game. Bothwell provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led JSerra Catholic Freshman Lions with two runs batted in. The third baseman went 1-for-2 on the day. A Etlinger collected two hits for JSerra Catholic Freshman Lions in three at bats. Etlinger stole two bases. Reveles led St. John Bosco with one run batted in. The infielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Tomlin paced St. John Bosco with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, collecting seven walks for the game. Novoa and Tomlin each stole multiple bases for St. John Bosco.
