Riley Jackson collected three hits in four at bats, as JSerra Catholic Freshman Lions defeated Servite Freshman Friars 5-3 on Monday at Current Location. Jackson singled in the first inning, singled in the second inning, and singled in the sixth inning.
A double by Carter Unten put Servite Freshman Friars on the board in the top of the first.
JSerra Catholic Freshman Lions captured the lead, 3-2, in the bottom of the fourth after Jax Poplowski hit a sacrifice fly, Brody Rae doubled to center field, and Servite Freshman Friars committed an error, each scoring one run.
Alex Winny earned the win for JSerra Catholic Freshman Lions. The reliever allowed three hits and one run over three innings, striking out four and walking two. Wyatt Mckinney opened the game for JSerra Catholic Freshman Lions. The pitcher gave up three hits and two runs (one earned) over four innings, striking out three and walking three. Sam Peńa started on the mound for Servite Freshman Friars. The starter gave up seven hits and five runs (zero earned) over five and one-third innings, striking out five and walking one.
Poplowski, Mckinney, and Rae each drove in one run for JSerra Catholic Freshman Lions. Jackson stole two bases. JSerra Catholic Freshman Lions ran wild on the base paths, amassing four stolen bases for the game.
