Shane Beaudry collected four hits in five at bats, as JSerra Catholic Freshman Lions defeated Mater Dei Monarchs Freshman 17-3 on Saturday. Beaudry doubled in the second inning, singled in the fourth inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the sixth inning.
JSerra Catholic Freshman Lions got on the board in the top of the first inning after W Mckinney was struck by a pitch, S Hager walked, and Jax Poplowski was struck by a pitch, each scoring one run.
JSerra Catholic Freshman Lions scored seven runs on three hits in the top of the fifth inning. Beaudry drew a walk, scoring one run, Fick hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, Brody Rae doubled, scoring one run, Hager was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, T Golden drew a walk, scoring one run, G Brummel drew a walk, scoring one run, and A Etlinger drew a walk, scoring one run.
A Winny earned the win for JSerra Catholic Freshman Lions. The starter allowed one hit and zero runs over four innings, striking out five and walking one. Dylan Hendon took the loss for Mater Dei Monarchs Freshman. The pitcher went two innings, giving up three runs on four hits, striking out two and walking two. Benjamin Esquivel opened the game for Mater Dei Monarchs Freshman. The hurler surrendered two hits and three runs over two innings, striking out none and walking two. Beaudry appeared in relief for JSerra Catholic Freshman Lions.
