Clarkston — Olivia Bartlett’s Clutch Hitting Propels Goodrich Varsity Martians To Victory Over Clarkston By GameChanger Media Olivia Bartlett drove in five runs on two hits to lead Goodrich Varsity Martians past Clarkston 15-0 on Tuesday at Clarkston High School. Bartlett hit a grand slam to center field in the fifth inning, scoring four runs, and singled in the fifth inning, scoring one. Goodrich Varsity Martians won thanks in part to 11 runs in the fifth inning. Sophie Swanson grounded out, scoring one run, Bartlett singled, scoring one run, Jordyn Kosmowski singled, scoring one run, Makenzie Jackson singled, scoring two runs, Ayannah Jackson singled, scoring one run, Swanson drew a walk, scoring one run, and Bartlett hit a grand slam to center field. A single by Alisyn Raether put Goodrich Varsity Martians on the board in the top of the first. A line out by Anna Light extended the Goodrich Varsity Martians lead to 2-0 in the top of the second inning. Goodrich Varsity Martians added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Raether tripled down the right field line, and Swanson grounded into a fielder's choice, each scoring one run. Alaina Overland earned the win for Goodrich Varsity Martians. The right-handed pitcher gave up two hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out four and walking one. Leanne Scanlon took the loss for Clarkston. The pitcher went four and two-thirds innings, allowing 15 runs (14 earned) on 13 hits, striking out none and walking three. Goodrich Varsity Martians accumulated 14 hits in the game. Jackson and Raether were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected three hits for Goodrich Varsity Martians while hitting back-to-back. Hadley Baszler and Overland each collected multiple hits for Goodrich Varsity Martians. Goodrich Varsity Martians were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error.
