Allentown, PA — Strong Hitting Not Enough As Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs Falls To Parkland

Even though Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs collected eight hits to Parkland's five, they still fell 4-2 on Wednesday. Donato Brigidi and Kolby Miller each collected two hits for Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs.
Parkland got on the board in the first inning after Weninger singled, scoring one run.
Callen Nicklas singled to center field, which helped Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs tie the game at one in the top of the fourth.
Parkland captured the lead, 4-1, in the bottom of the fourth after Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs committed an error, Taylor grounded into a double play, and Damweber singled down the left field line, each scoring one run.
Marsteller earned the win for Parkland. The hurler gave up five hits and one run over five innings, striking out nine and walking one. Nick Cristman led things off on the mound for Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs. The starting pitcher surrendered five hits and four runs (three earned) over six innings, striking out three and walking four.
Miller and Nicklas each drove in one run for Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs. Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs turned two double plays in the game.
Dickson went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Parkland in hits. Brunner, Weninger, and Damweber each drove in one run for Parkland. Parkland turned two double plays in the game. Parkland were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Damweber made the most plays with 12.
Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs play at home on Friday against Stroudsburg in their next game.
