Jack Lloyd threw a shutout to lead Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs past Nazareth Area 5-0 on Friday.
Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs were the first to get on the board in the third when Sudge Hoderewski singled, scoring two runs.
C Steingall took the loss for Nazareth Area. The starter went four innings, allowing three runs (zero earned) on two hits, striking out seven and walking two.
Hoderewski provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs with two runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-4 on the day. Jules Alatzas, Logan Shean, Hoderewski, and Callen Nicklas each collected one hit for Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs. Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs stole five bases in the game. Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs turned one double play in the game. Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs didn't commit a single error in the field. Nicklas had the most chances in the field with nine.
R Lichetnberger, Nazareth Area's number seven hitter, led the team with two hits in two at-bats.
