Macungie, PA — Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs Defeat Emmaus Behind Strong Performance From Jack Lloyd By GameChanger Media Jack Lloyd was dominant on the hill, as the pitcher rang up 12 strikeouts in Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs's 4-1 victory over Emmaus on Monday. Lloyd surrendered three hits and one run over six and two-thirds innings while walking one. Emmaus opened the scoring in the first after Tanner Karwacki grounded out, scoring one run. Sudge Hoderewski doubled down the left field line, which helped Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs tie the game at one in the top of the sixth. In the top of the seventh, Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs broke up the tie when Tyler Sanders singled, scoring two runs. Then an error followed to extend the lead to 4-1. Cole Moreau started on the bump for Emmaus. The starter allowed six hits and four runs (one earned) over six and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking two. Logan Shean appeared in relief for Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs. Sanders led Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs with two hits in four at bats from the leadoff position. Karwacki went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Karwacki, Chase Simmons, and Moreau each collected one hit for Emmaus. Emmaus turned two double plays in the game.
