Schnecksville, PA — Tyler Sanders Puts On Strong Contact Performance As Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs Take The Win Over Allentown Central Catholic

Tyler Sanders collected four hits in four at bats, as Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs defeated Allentown Central Catholic 12-3 on Monday. Sanders doubled in the second inning, doubled in the fourth inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the sixth inning.
A single by Kolby Miller put Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs on the board in the top of the first.
Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Sanders doubled down the left field line, and Donato Brigidi hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.
Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs scored six runs on six hits in the top of the sixth inning. Logan Shean hit a solo inside the park home run, Chase Miller doubled, scoring three runs, Nik Christman singled, scoring one run, and Callen Nicklas doubled, scoring one run.
Jack Lloyd earned the win for Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs. The starter gave up one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out two and walking one. Shean pitched three innings in relief for Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs. The hurler gave up five hits and three runs while, striking out two and walking two. Butz took the loss for Allentown Central Catholic. The starting pitcher went four innings, surrendering six runs on 10 hits, striking out five and walking one.
Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs piled up 17 hits in the game. Miller drove the middle of the lineup, leading Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs with four runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Miller, Sudge Hoderewski, and Nicklas each collected multiple hits for Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs.
Tilton, Rooney, Vanfleet, Butz, Bowser, and Young each collected one hit for Allentown Central Catholic. Rooney, Vanfleet, and Butz each drove in one run for Allentown Central Catholic. Allentown Central Catholic were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Strobl made the most plays with eight.
Whitehall will play next in the EPC Quarterfinals at home on Thursday.
