Eudora, KS — The Tonganoxie Chieftains lost 3-1 against Eudora in a physical game on Thursday, March 7th. The first half was scoreless with both teams creating goal scoring chances. Legan Caraway and Lilli Sanders led the Chieftains with two shots each. Marissa Dick and Miley Maxwell, in her comeback game, had one shot. Eudora had five shots and Lauren Breuer had two saves. Within the first three minutes of the second half, Dick scored after winning the ball off of a Eudora defender. Eudora responded quickly with a goal in the 45th minute. Two more goals for Eudora came in the 56th and 64th minute. The Chieftains kept their offensive attack but fell short. Maxwell led the second half with three shots. Sanders and Dick both had one shot. Chaynee Howell played the second half and recorded eight saves. The Chieftains play Kansas City Christian on Tuesday, May 12th, at home. They will also be celebrating their two seniors, Grace Weatherford and Johanna Boone. Senior night activities will take place before the varsity game.
The JV Lady Chieftains tied the Eudora Cardinals in a close match on May 7th at Eudora High School. Eudora scored in the ninth minute. At the half the score was 1-0. Gabriela Garza scored off of an assist from Lilly Bedtke in the 40th minute. The Chieftains play again on Tuesday, May 12th at home against Kansas City Christian at 4:30 p.m.
