JV Rovers Come Up Short Against Pocono Mountain East

Swiftwater — Easton Area Junior Varsity could not keep up with Pocono Mountain East, losing a back-and-forth affair 7-4 on Monday.
The JV Rovers got on the board in the third inning after Dech singled, scoring three runs.
Pocono Mountain East made the score 4-3 in the bottom of the fourth. Pacheco singled to left field, which helped Easton tie the game at four in the top of the fifth. Pocono Mountain East took the lead for good in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Pacheco took the loss for Easton. The hurler went one and one-third innings, allowing three runs (zero earned) on three hits, striking out one and walking none. Gares started on the hill for the JV Rovers. The pitcher allowed five hits and four runs (one earned) over three and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking one.
Dech drove the middle of the lineup, leading Easton Junior Varsity with two runs batted in. The first baseman went 1-for-3 on the day. Pacheco, Gares, Alvin,, Dech, and Greg each collected one hit for Easton.
The Junior Varsity Rovers play at home on Wednesday against Liberty in their next game. First pitch is 4pm at Charles Richards Field.
