Easton — Easton Area Junior Varsity Rovers had trouble keeping up with Liberty in a 13-1 loss on Wednesday at Charles Richards Field.
A double and a throwing error with two on base put Liberty on the board in the top of the first.
Liberty added to their early lead in the top of the third inning, plating four more runs. Liberty extended their lead in the fourth with six runs on three hits.
Schaffer started the game for Easton. The hurler surrendered nine hits and seven runs over three innings, striking out two and walking one. The Hurricane starter surrendered two hits and one run (zero earned) over five innings, striking out six and walking none. Kirkland and Ramirez appeared in relief for the JV Rovers.
Patrick and Schaffer each collected one hit for Easton. Charles had the only run batted in. Liberty tallied 12 hits in the game.
The JV Rovers welcome the Freedom Patriots on Friday for their next game. First pitch is 4pm at Charles Richards Field.
