Bay City — Pinconning Varsity Spartans With Tough Game Against Glenn By GameChanger Media Pinconning Varsity Spartans couldn't keep up with Glenn and fell 15-5 on Thursday. Glenn opened the scoring in the bottom of the first thanks to two singles. Glenn first got on the board when #14 singled, scoring two runs. A double by #28 extended the Glenn lead to 5-0 in the bottom of the second inning. Glenn added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after #16 singled down the right field line, and #19 grounded out, each scoring one run. Glenn scored five runs on two hits in the bottom of the fifth inning. An error scored one run, #8 singled, scoring two runs, #3 drew a walk, scoring one run, and an error scored one run. Blake Kareus stepped on the mound first for Pinconning Varsity Spartans. The starter surrendered two hits and five runs (three earned) over one and one-third innings, striking out two and walking two. #16 led things off on the hill for Glenn. The hurler gave up three hits and four runs (two earned) over five innings, striking out nine and walking three. Alex Rivard, Cole Dzurka, Alex Shelagowski, and Colton Shelagowski each collected one hit for Pinconning Varsity Spartans.
