Saint George, KS — Lacy Vestal hit two home runs and drove in five as Wamego Junior Varsity Lady Raiders defeated Rock Creek 19-4 on Friday at Rock Creek High School. Vestal homered in the fourth and second innings. Wamego Junior Varsity Lady Raiders jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Kearn singled, scoring one run, Clark induced Hollenbeck to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, Massieon singled, scoring two runs, Schiel singled, scoring two runs, and Quintanilla homered to left field, scoring two runs. Wamego Junior Varsity Lady Raiders added seven more runs in the top of the second inning on six hits. Vestal homered to center field, scoring two runs, Hollenbeck homered to center field, scoring two runs, Massieon singled, scoring one run, and Theel singled, scoring two runs. Rock Creek scored four runs in the bottom of the third on a grand slam to left field by Worden. Four more Wamego Junior Varsity Lady Raiders runs crossed the plate in the fourth inning to extend the lead to 19-4. An error scored one run, and Vestal homered to left field, scoring three runs. Allen earned the win for Wamego Junior Varsity Lady Raiders. The pitcher gave up five hits and four runs over four innings, striking out five and walking two. Clark took the loss for Rock Creek. The hurler went four innings, giving up 19 runs (12 earned) on 16 hits, striking out one and walking one. Wamego Junior Varsity Lady Raiders collected 16 hits in the game. Vestal, Quintanilla, and Kearn each collected three hits for Wamego Junior Varsity Lady Raiders. Fath and Massieon each collected multiple hits for Wamego Junior Varsity Lady Raiders. Wamego Junior Varsity Lady Raiders were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Walsh had the most chances in the field with five. Worden drove the middle of the lineup, leading Rock Creek with four runs batted in. The number three hitter went 1-for-2 on the day.
