Schnecksville — Griffin Peters's Strong Eye Leads Whitehall Junior Varsity Zephyrs Past Allentown Central Catholic Junior Varsity Vikings By GameChanger Media Griffin Peters showed a strong eye at the plate on Friday, as Peters walked three times while leading Whitehall Junior Varsity Zephyrs to a 22-10 victory over Allentown Central Catholic Junior Varsity Vikings. Bats blistered as Whitehall Junior Varsity Zephyrs collected 16 hits and Allentown Central Catholic Junior Varsity Vikings tallied seven in the high-scoring game. Whitehall Junior Varsity Zephyrs got on the board in the top of the first inning after Peters walked, Kevin Nguyen flew out, and Tony Arnold grounded out, each scoring one run. Whitehall Junior Varsity Zephyrs added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Nguyen walked, and Arnold tripled to center field, each scoring one run. Allentown Central Catholic Junior Varsity Vikings flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the third, scoring six runs on four hits to take the lead, 8-5. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Colin Sedora that drove in two. Whitehall Junior Varsity Zephyrs took the lead, 9-8, in the top of the fourth thanks to singles by Carson Strauss, and Peters. Rocco Menecola singled down the right field line, which helped Allentown Central Catholic Junior Varsity Vikings tie the game at nine in the bottom of the fourth. In the top of the sixth inning, Whitehall Junior Varsity Zephyrs went back into the lead after Carter Renninger walked, Arnold was struck by a pitch, and Yorvi Almonte walked, each scoring one run. Whitehall Junior Varsity Zephyrs scored 10 runs on eight hits in the top of the seventh inning. Renninger doubled, scoring two runs, Almonte singled, scoring one run, Alex Younes singled, scoring two runs, Kane Braun doubled, scoring two runs, Peters doubled, scoring one run, and Starlin Abreu tripled, scoring two runs.
