Milkovic Drives 4 Runners Home In Newtown Nighthawks Freshman Victory Over Danbury Freshmen

Zach Milkovic drove in four runs on four hits to lead Newtown Nighthawks Freshman past Danbury Freshmen 21-8 on Saturday at Newtown High School. Zach Milkovic singled in the fourth scoring two, doubled in the first scoring one, and doubled in the second scoring one.
Danbury Freshmen were the first to get on the board in the first when Jeremy singled, scoring two runs.
Newtown Nighthawks Freshman flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the first, scoring six runs on three hits to take the lead, 6-2. The biggest blow in the inning was an error that drove in two.
Newtown Nighthawks Freshman scored six runs on five hits in the bottom of the second inning. Zach Milkovic doubled, scoring one run, Shea Platt singled, scoring two runs, Antonio Puebla singled, scoring one run, Charlie Magnano singled, scoring one run, and Bryce Pacuk singled, scoring one run.
A ground out by Shea Platt extended the Newtown Nighthawks Freshman lead to 13-5 in the bottom of the third inning.
Newtown Nighthawks Freshman scored eight runs on six hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. An error scored one run, Justin Twitchell singled, scoring one run, Zach Milkovic singled, scoring two runs, Shea Platt singled, scoring two runs, Antonio Puebla singled, scoring one run, and Jake Coscia singled, scoring one run.
James Trubiano earned the win for Newtown Nighthawks Freshman. The right-handed pitcher surrendered two hits and three runs (one earned) over two and two-thirds innings, striking out eight and walking two. Conor Mcgee stepped on the hill first for Newtown Nighthawks Freshman. The pitcher gave up four hits and five runs (three earned) over two and one-third innings, striking out three and walking six. Tucker stepped on the bump first for Danbury Freshmen. The pitcher surrendered four hits and nine runs (seven earned) over one inning, striking out none and walking seven.
Newtown Nighthawks Freshman piled up 15 hits in the game. Jake Coscia and Antonio Puebla each collected multiple hits for Newtown Nighthawks Freshman. Charlie Magnano paced Newtown Nighthawks Freshman with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, piling up 10 walks for the game. Conor Mcgee, Zach Milkovic, Shea Platt, and James Trubiano each stole multiple bases for Newtown Nighthawks Freshman. Newtown Nighthawks Freshman ran wild on the base paths, collecting 16 stolen bases for the game.
Jeremy drove the middle of the lineup, leading Danbury Freshmen with three runs batted in. The second baseman went 1-for-2 on the day. Joe set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading Danbury Freshmen with two hits in two at bats. Pj paced Danbury Freshmen with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, collecting eight walks for the game. Danbury Freshmen turned one double play in the game.
