Wamego, KS — Wamego Varsity Lady Raiders built a 4-run lead in the second inning and then held off Abilene Varsity Cowgirls's charge for a 6-5 victory on Friday. Abilene Varsity Cowgirls closed the gap by scoring on a single, a walk, a single, and a single.
Wamego Varsity Lady Raiders didn't take the lead until later in the game. The game was tied at five in the bottom of the sixth when Coon hit a solo home run to left field.

Evans, Adams, Coon, Hall, Cook, and McCarthy each drove in one run for Wamego Varsity Lady Raiders. Massieon went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Wamego Varsity Lady Raiders in hits. McCarthy stole two bases.
