Shelton, CT — By GameChanger Shelton Junior Varsity Gaels beat Fairfield Prep JV Baseball ‘26 5-4 on Saturday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at four in the bottom of the fifth when Asher Moccaie singled, scoring one run. Shelton Junior Varsity Gaels were the first to get on the board in the first when Zach Bohm scored after tagging up. Fairfield Prep JV Baseball ‘26 jumped back into the lead in the top of the second inning after Hunter Brill singled to center field, and Shelton Junior Varsity Gaels committed an error, each scoring one run. Fairfield Prep JV Baseball ‘26 added one run in the third after Ty Mullin singled to the left side of the infield. Shelton Junior Varsity Gaels jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the fifth inning after Zach Bohm doubled to center field, Gianni Piscioniere doubled down the left field line, and Asher Moccaie singled down the left field line, each scoring one run. Gianni Piscioniere earned the win for Shelton Junior Varsity Gaels. The starting pitcher allowed six hits and four runs (three earned) over five innings, striking out five and walking three. James Evarts took the loss for Fairfield Prep JV Baseball ‘26. The starting pitcher went five innings, giving up five runs (one earned) on seven hits, striking out eight and walking none. Sean Cleary collected the save. Gianni Piscioniere provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Shelton Junior Varsity Gaels with two runs batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Leadoff hitter Zach Bohm led Shelton Junior Varsity Gaels with two hits in three at bats. Shelton Junior Varsity Gaels turned two double plays in the game. Ty Mullin drove the middle of the lineup, leading Fairfield Prep JV Baseball ‘26 with two runs batted in. The first baseman went 2-for-4 on the day.
