Stratford, CT — Stratford got back to winning ways today beating SWC league opponent Joel Barlow at Penders Field 2-1. Stratford starter Junior Jack Wiltsie was superb going the full seven innings throwing just 81 total pitches. Joel Barlow’s lone run came early in the game on a sac fly. The heroics for Stratford came in the bottom of the 6th when both Max Owen & Julian Rivera got on via walks, Evan Wendland slapped a 1-out 2-strike pitch to LF plating Owen, and, after a 2 out walk by Eli Jimenez to load the passes, Josh Tiberio took an inside pitch off his upper arm scoring Julian Rivera with the winning run. Stratford is now 4-8, 3-4 SWC and returns to action on Friday at 4:00 at ND Prep in another SWC league game.
