Stratford, CT — After quick of a disastrous top of the 1st inning that led league opponent Kolbe Cathedral to jump out to a quick & dishearting 3-0, Stratford first settled down by way of starting pitcher Jack Wiltsie’s ‘no more’ mentality & effort. Wiltsie pitched 6 scoreless innings after that & Stratford finally started to score in the bottom of the 4th after Wiltsie & Josh Tiberio singled the opposite way, Joey Blaine pinch ran for Tiberio, & Wiltsie and Blaine ended up scoring on Max Owen’s sac fly & Eli Jimenez’s two-bagger. Then in the bottom of the 6th after Julian Rivera’s single, Max Owen’s walk, & a passed ball that allowed both runners to advance, Stratford first tied the game on an errant throw back to the pitcher that allowed Rivera to score. Next, the winning run was plated when Max Owen scored on Blake Merfalen’s IF single. Stratford’s record is now 5-9, 4-5 SWC.
