Goodrich, MI — Alisyn Raether’s Clutch Hitting Propels Goodrich Varsity Martians To Victory Over Powers Catholic By GameChanger Media Alisyn Raether drove in four runs on two hits to lead Goodrich Varsity Martians past Powers Catholic 17-2 on Saturday at Goodrich High School. Raether hit a home run to left field in the second inning, scoring three runs, and singled in the first inning, scoring one. Goodrich Varsity Martians scored nine runs in the second inning on the way to victory. Makenzie Jackson singled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, Raether homered to left field, scoring three runs, Olivia Bartlett hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, Ella Preimer singled, scoring two runs, and an error scored one run. Powers Catholic were the first to get on the board in the first when a wild pitch scored one run. Goodrich Varsity Martians took the lead, 4-1, in the bottom of the first thanks to singles by Ayannah Jackson, Raether, and Samantha Hiller. Goodrich Varsity Martians scored two runs in the bottom of the third on a home run to left field by Bartlett. Alaina Overland earned the win for Goodrich Varsity Martians. The starting pitcher gave up one hit and one run over two innings, striking out five and walking two. Katie Costello took the loss for Powers Catholic. The starter went one inning, allowing nine runs (seven earned) on eight hits, striking out none and walking one. Kinsley Pinkelman collected the save. Goodrich Varsity Martians accumulated 18 hits in the game. Preimer and Jackson each collected three hits for Goodrich Varsity Martians. Anna Light and Hiller each collected multiple hits for Goodrich Varsity Martians. Light stole two bases. Goodrich Varsity Martians ran wild on the base paths, accumulating five stolen bases for the game. Brynn Wolinski went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in.
