To get the final out, Jamie Piccuillo struck out Louis Nevadomski. Both teams were strong on the hill. Newtown Nighthawks pitchers struck out eight, while Pomperaug Varsity Panthers sat down six. Newtown Nighthawks got on the board in the fourth inning after J.T. Walsh hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run. Brayden Cloutier took the loss for Pomperaug Varsity Panthers. The pitcher went five innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits, striking out five and walking one. Alex Augustine stepped on the mound first for Pomperaug Varsity Panthers. The starting pitcher gave up one hit and zero runs over one inning, striking out one and walking two. J.T. Walsh and Jack Carta each drove in one run for Newtown Nighthawks.
