Linden, MI — By GameChanger Media Ayannah Jackson hit two home runs and drove in eight as Goodrich Varsity Martians defeated Lake Fenton 12-7 on Monday at Lake Fenton High School. Jackson homered in the second and third innings. Goodrich Varsity Martians were the first to get on the board in the first when Olivia Bartlett singled, scoring two runs. Lake Fenton tied the game in the bottom of the first thanks to a single by Avery Cochrane (2028), and an error. Goodrich Varsity Martians flipped the game on its head in the top of the second, scoring five runs on two hits to take the lead, 7-2. The biggest blow in the inning was a grand slam to left field by Jackson that drove in four. Goodrich Varsity Martians added to their lead with five runs in the top of the third inning thanks to home runs by Jackson and Alisyn Raether. Alaina Overland earned the win for Goodrich Varsity Martians. The hurler surrendered 10 hits and seven runs (six earned) over five innings, striking out three and walking two. M Klott took the loss for Lake Fenton. The starting pitcher went two and two-thirds innings, allowing 10 runs (nine earned) on seven hits, striking out two and walking three. Goodrich Varsity Martians amassed 10 hits in the game. Bartlett and Makenzie Jackson each collected multiple hits for Goodrich Varsity Martians. Lake Fenton amassed 10 hits in the game. Cochrane (2028) went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Lake Fenton in hits. E Ureche and Cochrane (2028) each drove in two runs for Lake Fenton.
